Accomplished as artist and educator, Bill gives workshops around the country
on both abstract painting and figure drawing and has made popular educational
Bill is also an accomplished jazz pianist and composer(see Music Biography)., a writer of film music, poetry, and children’s stories and a photographer too. Bill says, of his work, “Harmony is my keynote. Ideas from the realm of music are my main source of inspiration. At the same time, a broad spectrum of ideas and techniques of European Modernism of the early 20th century, the artistic philosophy and methods of Chinese and Japanese painting, as well as Renaissance and Classical concepts all provide some bearings for the ongoing voyage.
Bill newest works are on view at Gallerihuset, Strandvejen 138A in Hellerup, Copenhagen, Denmark and at The Tennis Gardens at Longboat Key Club on Longboat Key in Florida. (See Upcoming Exhibitions)

In May, 2004, PBS TV station, WEDU, in Tampa did a profile on Bill and his art and music for their cultural news program “West Coast Journal”. (see The Movie). In the March of 2004 he was one of the featured artist’s in “Sarasota Creator’s and Collector’s Tour” presented by the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota.

In the summer of 2004 Bill gave a workshop entitled “The Creative Process” at the River Rock Studio art retreat in the Canadian Rockies outside of Calgary and Bill’s newest paintings sold out at an exhibit at the international art gallery, Gallerihuset, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Then, in October, Bill juried the annual “International Society of Experimental Artists” (ISEA) exhibition at the Alliance of the Arts in Ft. Myers, FL and gave a workshop there in “Creative Techniques and Ideas”. Also in October, Bill’s paintings were presented by Gallerihuset with other notable artists in Denmark’s largest yearly art fair entitled Art Copenhagen.
Since the beginning of 2005, Bill has given lectures on the concepts of abstract painting with demonstrations of his painting techniques at Sarasota's Selby Library, at the Palm Aire Art Society in Bradenton, the Education Center on Longboat Key, and for the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota. During this period, Bill has given workshops for the Art League of Marco Island, and at Vanderbilt University in Nashville for the Tennessee Watercolor Society, as well as workshops and classes at The Longboat Key Center for the Arts, at Art Center Sarasota, and at Art Center Manatee. Workshops in 2007 include the Venice Art Center, the Art League of Marco Island and Art Center Manatee. Recent and upcoming activities include workshops at the Learning and Product Expos in both Chicago and Pasadena and demonstrations at the Florida Watercolor Society Show in Del Ray Beach,FL and at Pearl Paint art stores in Ft Lauderdale and Miami. Along with the continued expansion of teaching and exhibiting activities Bill produced two DVD's, "Art Is an Attitude" and "Creative Breakout" in 2007 and 2008 respectively. In 2009 Bill wrote the manuscript for his exciting upcoming book for Watson Guptill/Random House entitled "Expressive Figure Drawing" to be published later this year (Dec.)
